A new stage of international cooperation

Ural State University of Economics has officially opened the Russian Language Center in the People's Republic of China on the basis of the Shandong Professional Institute of Shengli (Dongying city).
The USUE Acting Rector Yakov Silin joined the opening ceremony via video link. The creation of the Center became possible within the framework of the agreements reached during the XVI Eurasian Economic Youth Forum.
"The traditions of friendship between the Chinese and Russian peoples date back many decades. The leaders of our countries, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin, set an excellent example of cooperation between the two great powers to the two peoples and the whole world. We are glad to have the opportunity to create a Russian Language Center at your institute. The Consulate General of the People's Republic of China has been successfully operating in Yekaterinburg for many years, and we have been fruitfully cooperating with it all these years. The establishment of the Center is another important step in bringing peoples closer together, in familiarizing them with each other's cultures and guaranteeing the development prospects of our countries and higher education institutions. I thank the Institute's management for their support of this initiative. Any long road begins with the first step: today we are taking this step together, forming the first group and hoping that this path will be successful," said Yakov Silin.
The Chinese partners also spoke about the significance of this event. "Russian Language Center opening at our Institute is a landmark event," Zhang Yuzhen, President of the Shandong Professional Institute of Shengli, said. We are deeply grateful to Ural State University of Economics for its trust and support. I am confident that this project will become a reliable bridge for our students, opening their doors to the world of Russian education and culture."
Roman Krasnov, Vice Rector for Social Work and Youth Policy at USUE, Ren Xiaojing, project coordinator, Zhang Jiamin, Director of the International Institute, and Wang Qi, Senior lecturer at the International Institute, as well as heads of educational organizations in China, took part in the event in a face-to-face format.
The first set of the Russian Language Center will train 15 Chinese citizens, the duration of the program will be one year. The students have already started Russian language classes.
The event was an important step in strengthening educational and cultural ties between Russia and China, as well as in promoting the Russian language abroad. The main goal of the international educational project is to prepare future students to study at Russian universities and help those who want to connect their lives with Russia. After completing their studies at the Russian Language Center, Chinese citizens will be able to enroll in Russian universities and receive education in any field.
The project to create Russian Language Centers for the Ural State University of Economics plays an important role in terms of developing cooperation with foreign countries. Currently, Russian language centers are operating in Egypt and Sri Lanka. Dozens of graduates have already completed the training program.
